My Dad lives in Falcon which is East of Colorado Springs and South of this fire. Apparently he's on pre evacuation notice. Everybody I know down there is telling me how brutal it is down there already hitting 100 ( whcih normally doesn't happen until July or August ). I was considering moving back a couple of years ago and all I can say is I'm glad I didn't.

BLACK FOREST — The evacuation zone for the Black Forest fire was expanded early this morning because of "dynamic changing conditions," the sheriff's office said. The Black Forest fire burning north of Colorado Springs has now consumed 15,000 acres, El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa said at a news conference early today.

Overnight, sheriff's deputies went door-to-door in the expanded evacuation area.

The evacuation area includes 94,000 acres and 13,000 homes as of this morning. Some 38,000 people have been evacuated.

The Black Forest fire has destroyed at least 360 homes. No wildfire in Colorado history has destroyed more homes. The previous record was set in the Waldo Canyon fire west of Colorado Springs in 2012. It destroyed 347 homes.

Weather forecast there today is mid-90s, windy, red-flag conditions, 20% chance t-storms.
